Jammu, Nov 11 (KNO): Acting swiftly on a specific and reliable input, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu achieved a major success by recovering approximately 500 grams of Heroin and arresting one interstate drug smuggler involved in the illicit narcotics trade. “During the operation, a team of ANTF Jammu intercepted the suspect following sustained surveillance and credible intelligence regarding drug trafficking activity. The accused has been identified as Mohd. Parvez S/o Mohd. Shaheed, resident of Jaffarabad, North-East Delhi,” a spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Upon the search, the team recovered around 500 grams of Heroin from his possession, the statement said. In this connection, a case under FIR number 03/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, and further investigation has been initiated to unearth the backward and forward linkages of this interstate drug trafficking network. “Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused was part of a larger network involved in supplying narcotics from outside the Union Territory to local peddlers within Jammu & Kashmir. ANTF is working on identifying other members of the syndicate and tracing the source and destination of the contraband,” the statement reads. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force, J&K, continues its dedicated efforts to combat drug trafficking and to dismantle interstate networks involved in the smuggling and distribution of narcotics. The general public is urged to come forward with any information related to drug trafficking and help the police in its ongoing mission to make Jammu & Kashmir drug-free—(KNO)
